Fool Who? Where am I?

The FoolAloof gallery showcases many of the websites we have completed recently. Choose a site from the menu on the right to get details about the site's development and design.

Poseidon Adventures Ltd.

http://www.scubatulsa.com

Poseidon Adventures is a local dive shop who we have been diving with for over 15 years. When we heard that the owner of the shop was looking for a site we were excited to help out. The first version of the site was written in PHP and was recently redone in Ruby on Rails which allowed us to include many additional features that would have been too time consuming for the customers budget. The new version of the site will have a full content mamagment system, allowing the site owner to update the site on a whim without having to call us. It also includes much expended information of courses that are taught and classes that are being offered. The new site also, for the first time, allows Poseidon to advertise their scuba trips that they take several times per year. Now, if we could just get them to pay for the site in scuba trips we would be really happy;)

Poseidon's New Homepage. On the homepage we made the most important parts of the site available without even having to click a link. The next departing trip and the next starting open water class are always listed which can then be clicked to get additional details.

Poseidon's calendar page. A pervious version of the site also had a calendar but we found that the client didn't like having to update it. So with this version we tied the calendar into the rest of the site so that anytime another part of the site is updated that involves a date, that event is automatically added to the calendar. Presto! A calendar that never needs to be updated.

With the redesign of this site we took a very different approach to layout. Instead of the traditional "in a box" type layout that you see on most sites we wanted something that would really stand out and would give a scuba diving feeling to the site. What we came up with was a right aligned body with nothing but open water to the left. We seperated the two sections with a stylalized coral reef section that repeats allowing for the page to be as tall as necessary without leaving the basic elements of the layout behind.
